Abstract
Millimeter waves offer attractive possibilities for wireless indoor communication systems. Among the advantages over microwaves are the increased bandwidth and the low probability of interference. Few results are, however, available for the channel modelisation. A new technique for the amplitude-delay profile evaluation at such frequencies, using Gaussian beam tracking, is proposed here. This technique is based on Gabor frame theory which leads to the decomposition of source fields into a set of Gaussian windows. The field radiated by each window is put in the form of a Gaussian beam, and tracked in the environment. The total received field is obtained by superposition, taking into account the coupling factor to a given receiving antenna pattern. The amplitude-delay profile is obtained directly from propagation delay computation.
