  • Abstract
This paper is concerned with the blind equalisation of a communication system. We propose to realize the identification of the channel impulse response as well as the noise variance estimation and detection of the emitted sequence of symbols. The signal representation as a hidden Markov model (HMM) has the intrinsic potential for solving such a problem. However, the high performance of such methods is usually obtained at the cost of a high computational complexity and local minima problems. Both issues are addressed in this paper
