Abstract
The Fieldbus is intended to connect in an open way a number of field devices of various origins, providing industrial control and various other functionalities at low cost. Several approaches have been set: minimalist, specialist, and global. In the standardization domain, various organizations act in this field. IEC, ISA, CENELEC, DKE, and UTE are the international bodies concerned with this activity. The first generation of FIP components from CEGELEC is available on the market, including FULLFIP, FIPLD1 and FIPTR1. The second generation provides industrial and highly competitive FIP components in addition to meeting IEC physical layer compatibility
