Abstract
A new approach to the cost justification of world class manufacturing tools, techniques, and technologies, entitled PROFIT (program for financing integrated technologies), through the use of a structured approach, ensures that the full costs and benefits, both tangible and intangible, of one or more proposals are considered, and that the important company wide aspects are not overlooked. The approach is easy to use and understand, thereby making the best use of valuable management time, and, by being based on sound accounting principles, is acceptable to a company´s bankers and accountants
