Abstract
The authors describe the concept of an object oriented manufacturing modeling methodology characterized by its flexibility, which can support the multiple stages of the manufacturing system planning procedures, and by its potential to combine conventional CAE software modules. Rapid designing, from the rough design process to the development of control logic in manufacturing systems, can be achieved with this approach
