  • Abstract
In spares inventory management, appropriate measurement metric of support effectiveness is needed to make choices, in order to accurately determine inventory level. Aiming at the average support probability for series system, the general mathematical expression is established. Independent failure probability of each component in the series system is presented in the base of the Markov process theory and approximately converted to exponential distribution according to the principle of Cumulative Failure Probability Equal so as to build the approximate model of average support probability. Monte Carlo simulation model is also built in ExtendSim software for testing and verification. The results of approximate model are in accordance with simulation model, which proves its correctness.
