Abstract
Investigates the constant amplitude nature of several time-optimal input shaping designs for controlling flexible structures. The authors first discuss the equivalence of the time-optimal zero-vibration shaper with the traditional time-optimal control problem. Then the authors show that several robust time-optimal shaper designs for flexible systems are equivalent to the time-optimal controls for different systems. This equivalence allows properties and numerical methods for time-optimal control problems to be applied to minimum time input shaping design
