  • Abstract
    The microstrip ring resonator (MRR) is used as a miniaturized single-grain moisture sensor for grains of chickpea (Cicer Arietinum L.), wheat (Triticum Aestinum L.), mug (Phaseolus Radiatus Linn.) and matki. The grains are overlaid on an MRR in three different configurations, viz. complete, cross and partial, depending on their sizes. The change in the resonant frequency (f/sub r/) of the MRR is noted at different moisture levels in the grains. The moisture in the grains is varied from 0% to saturation (which for each grain is different). For experiments, a different MRR is used for each grain. The results are analyzed in view of the sizes and the type of overlay.
