Abstract
The most-widely used technique for enlarging antenna bandwidth is the application of resistive loading, for which the well-known Wu-King profile can be used to determine the loading distribution along the antenna. However, the disadvantage of resistive loading is that it drops radiation efficiency down to as low as 23%. To deal with this problem the application of capacitive and resistive-capacitive (RC) loading with linear/non-linear loading profiles has been proposed . In this paper, we propose the application of RC loading with linear/constant loading profiles. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that the proposed loading profiles decrease antenna currents rapidly towards the ends to improve bandwidth.
