Abstract
In addressing a recent article on whether a Gaussian model is adequate for the reverse-link CDMA signal, this paper shows the possibility density function (PDF) of the CDMA signal by using a time-domain model of the CDMA signal according to the IS-95 reverse-link modulator operation. The PDF of CDMA signal is shown as a narrow-band Gaussian noise. The analytical results are compared to the simulated data. CDMA signal has a rectangular power spectrum if it can be proved as bandlimited Gaussian stochastic process with zero mean. This will make it possible to express spectrum regrowth in terms of parameters of PAs such as intercept points explicitly, and further aid the design of PAs and DPDs for 3G communication standards (WCDMA, CDMA2000, TD-SCDMA, etc.).
