Abstract
A modification to the finite volume time domain method is implemented to solve Maxwell´s equations in real time for definite or undefined inhomogeneous scatterer. The scatterers are discretized to a main and a dual grid. Each grid consists of orthogonal and nonorthogonal elements. The technique is a modification of the finite-difference time-domain method to apply to nonorthogonal elements. The method is applicable to any homogeneous or inhomogeneous objects. Also it can be used with scatterers included or illuminated with different types of electromagnetic sources. The results showed fairly good stability and convergence with time and spatial stepping.
