Abstract
Corporate environmental responsibility (CER) is now on the corporate and political agenda in China. The objective of this study is to determine the relevance of environmental aspects for China biopharmaceutical companies. This paper presents a new perspective which calls for an integration of CER into the business strategy as a source of competitive advantages in the biopharmaceutical companies. We also introduce an Internal Responsibility System (IRS) to meet company´s environmental responsibilities.
