Abstract
Today, a wide range of standards and tools in process industries causes gaps between different domains dealing with properties. Properties serve as objects contributing to the formal description of other objects, for example plant elements. We present a metamodel of property management which is able to close many gaps. It contains all model entities that are required for property modeling, standardization, engineering, procurement and plant operation. The metamodel can be mapped to a matrix which covers type, class and instance objects using unified basic mechanisms. To take care of the difficult requirements to property systems being accessible to heterogeneous domains, we propose a Service-oriented encapsulation of the model.
