Abstract
A monolithic low-noise and low-distortion mixer-oscillator IC has been developed for miniaturized coilless broadcasting satellite TV tuners. In order to obtain a high IP3 and low noise figure (NF), apportionment of gain and dynamic range in each circuit block were optimized. The fabricated IC, by using a newly developed asymmetric self-aligned LDD FET process, showed a conversion gain of 16.5 approximately 18.1 dB, a NF of 6.8 approximately 7.6 dB, and an IP3 of 23 approximately 25 dBm over the frequencies from 900 to 2000 MHz.<>
