  • Abstract
Microcomputer software that allows continuous acquisition of extracorporeal circulation (ECC) parameters, namely blood gases and temperature in arteries and/or veins, blood flow rate, gas flow rate, percent of expired CO2 and gaseous mixture, is described. Its purpose is to facilitate control of ECC runs and understanding of ECC during open-heart surgery. The software is divided in preoperative, peroperative and postoperative parts. The first is used to create a patient data file, the second for data acquisition and storage of parameters during the ECC run, and the third for processing the ECC data
