Abstract
An electrochemical immunoassay using micro-fabricated three dimensional (3-D) comb electrodes made of magnetic alloy was tested. The dimensions of the electrodes are 10 μm in width and 20 μm in height, with 20 μm spacing in between, and the 30 pairs of anode and cathode electrodes made up a single sensor. The sensitivity of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) immunoassay using magnetic beads has been found to increase due to an increasing of apparent enzyme activity near the electrodes.
