Abstract
Amphiphilic polymer conetworks (APCN) are used as sensor matrices for rapid chlorine gas detection. The APCNs were synthesized by free radical induced photopolymerization and result in poly(2-hydoxyethyl acrylate)-l-polydimethylsiloxan (PHEA-l-PDMS). Easy impregnation of the polymer thin films with o-tolidine as oxidation indicator makes them sensitive for chlorine gas with detection times within seconds.
