Abstract
Backward-wave oscillator (BWO) is a high-power voltage tunable microwave source. Mode competition effects play an important role in the nonstationary dynamics of a relativistic BWO. Injection locking helps to minimize transient times and to stabilize a single frequency regime of operation. The results of time-domain numerical modeling of injection-locked dynamics are presented.
