Abstract
This paper introduces a new approach to analyse matrix converter (MC) stability, aimed to aid stable design of real MC systems that include input filter and control systems, accounting for digitisation, calculation delay, PLL effects and vector control. The linearisation technique as a method to obtain stability limits is first demonstrated for a simple MC system with digital implementation delay.
