Abstract
These proceedings represent the combined efforts of all three military services and our academic and industry partners in producing the National Forum: Military Telemedicine On-Line Today. The forum brought together military, industry, and academic leaders to further refine a national vision of the role of advanced technology in health care delivery. Telemedicine support of recent US military deployments and activities at military medical centers has provided evidence that these new technologies are indispensable to medical reengineering efforts. The DoD is at the cutting edge of new technology, leading the way for private sector telemedicine initiatives projecting expertise into underserved, difficult-to-serve, and expensive-to-serve areas
