Abstract
The work performed showed that SiC diode mixers offer the potential for very high performance mixers with reasonably low local oscillator levels. However, to take advantage of a high performance mixer, a receiver must provide a local oscillator of low spurious and phase noise. Furthermore, a high dynamic range mixer cannot provide enhanced performance unless an effective RF filter and shielding is provided in the receiver. For the future environment, which will include additional on board transmitters, airborne receivers must be designed to have high dynamic range
