  • Abstract
Monitoring the angle of insertion of the major temporal arcade (MTA) and how it changes over time could facilitate improved diagnosis and optimized treatment of retinopathy. We present a graphical user interface (GUI) for the measurement of the MTA and other types of arcade angles using two methods. The GUI is being designed in consultation with an expert ophthalmologist and adheres to the main principles of GUI design. The difference between the MTA angles obtained with 10 normal images and 15 images of proliferative diabetic retinopathy from the STARE database was found to be statistically highly significant (p<;0.01).
