  • Abstract
    An outstanding planning is the basis to enable advanced traveler information system (ATIS) for provincial highway network to progress. Based on the analysis of management mechanism of current Chinese provincial highway network (freeway network and normal highway network), a systematic planning process of Jiangsu Provincial Highway Traveler Information System (HTIS) are presented in this paper. On the basis of analysis of the planning goal, location and current planning flow, this paper discusses the planning process and contents of Jiangsu HTIS from five aspects, including information requirements, architecture design, system design, application projects planning, and business model planning. The research results of this paper have been applied in the planning project of Jiangsu Provincial HTIS as the main guideline and have certain references to domestic provincial HTIS planning.
