  • Abstract
A computation program has been developed for calculating the time-dependent velocity potential and added mass on the wetted surface of axisymmetric bodies emerging from an infinite, moving plane at an arbitrary angle of attack, using Hess-Smith method. To obtain time-varying solutions for hydrodynamics forces and moments on the prescribed body, the Kelvin-Kirchhoff equations of motion have been extended from the classic expression to equations including the effects of time-dependent terms. Numerical values evaluated from an emerging sphere are given and compared with those of literature, validating accuracy of the program and the modified equations.
