Abstract
The frequency response of a compact (3 0x5 0mm2) aperture coupled microstrip power divider for unequal, but in-phase, power split is presented. The simulated and experimental results are shown to demonstrate 2:1 power split with low insertion loss (<;0.4dB), high isolation between the output ports (<;14dB) and large impedance bandwidth (38%). The response of the device is improved by optimizing the patch and aperture dimensions and positions. Experimental results agreed well with the simulated performance of the power divider.
