Abstract
This paper presents a methodology to determine the load shedding required to restore the operational steady-state power flow solutions. In the proposed procedure, the load curtailment at each bus is obtained by solving a least squares problem through the nonlinear version of the predictor-corrector primal-dual interior point optimization algorithm. Null injection buses and the buses whose load must be totally supplied are modeled as equality constraints. The performance of the proposed methodology is assessed through the results obtained for the IEEE-6 bus test system and for an equivalent system of the Brazilian South-Southeast network with 1916 buses
