  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We report a robust Sagnac interferometer type fiber-optic current sensor for applications in DC and AC high-voltage electric power systems. The sensor is composed of readily available components and achieves accuracy within /spl plusmn/0.3% over a temperature range of operation between -40 and +85/spl deg/C for both, DC and AC current measurements. A new method to prepare and package the thermally annealed sensor fiber is investigated.
