Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical model that can predict the pulse response of indoor radio channels for propagation over one floor. The theory uses ray tracing to determine all primary paths by which radiation from a transmitter located within a building can reach receiving sites on the same floor as the transmitter. Each ray is convolved with the transmitted wave shape to determine the time profile of the received pulses. Predictions of received time profiles for two different wave shapes are compared to measurements. The waveforms are a short (4 ns) base band pulse and a 4 ns RF pulse centered at 1.3 GHz
