Abstract
The modeling technique for calculation of the fluorescent lamp electrode resistance and temperature during preheating phase is presented in this paper. Analytical expressions for the electrode temperature are derived from the electrode power balance. Set of measurements on two different types of electronic ballasts with different preheating rapid start strategies and standard four-feet T8 linear fluorescent tube 36 W was performed to verify the presented model.
