Abstract
The aim of this conference paper is to identify the maximum number of useful spatial channels in artificial-noise based unconditional communication systems using the concept of the degrees of freedom of the field. The approach followed in this paper was firstly proposed in an ASSIST COST meeting and is strictly related to the MIMO communication system analysis carried out.
