Abstract
Summary form only given. Exciton polaron states in C/sub 60/ molecule are theoretically studied in the tight-binding approach supplemented by the extended Hubbard interaction. The binding energies of the lowest singlet and triplet excitons depend sensitively upon the electron correlation. And the polaron exciton is formed due to the electron-lattice coupling. Relevant experiments in photoluminescence spectrum of C/sub 60/, (which is characterized by two peaks at 1.70eV (exciton states) and 1.53eV (polaron exciton states) can be explained qualitatively by the present model moderate interaction strength U /spl tilde/ 5.OeV, V /spl tilde/ 2.OeV.
