Abstract
Dielectric lens antennas are well known in mm and sub-mm wave applications due to their advanced radiation characteristics and relevant simplicity of mass production. We review the results of numerical analysis of the focusing properties of 2D hemielliptic lenses and numerical optimization of the lens frontside profile to provide the maximum directivity. In each case, the boundary integral equations are used.
