  • Abstract
The design and optimization of a Yagi array of miniaturized monopoles top-loaded with Peano space-filling curves was presented. Unlike conventional Yagi arrays of dipoles and monopoles, the design of a Yagi-PTLM array requires the use of evolutionary programming (EP) optimization in order to determine the inter element spacing, element heights, and Peano top-load sizes for an array design with sufficient gain. The design and optimization considerations of a five element Yagi-Peano Top-Loaded Monopole array, with center frequency 3.0 GHz, is presented and shown to achieve a simulated 13.2 dBi end-fire gain. A fabricated prototype has been created according to the optimized parameters and is currently under test. Full measured radiation patterns and fabrication considerations will be discussed at the presentation.
