  • Abstract
    This paper presents a deployment policy of multiple sink nodes and a heuristic algorithm in wireless sensor networks where the sink nodes can be disposed. The policy disposes the sink nodes through working out the optimal positions offline. And then, a case study on deployment of multiple sink nodes with the policy we present and the heuristic algorithm was implemented. The simulation result indicates that the deployment policy can save the energy consumption of wireless sensor networks, improve the efficiency of network service and prolong the lifetime of the network.
