  • Abstract
As the advanced form of sensor networks, audio/video sensor networks can provide rich multimedia information, which doubtlessly benefit a plethora of data hungry applications such as environment monitoring, health care, emergency response, and video security. In this paper, we first describe a cluster-based architecture of sensor networks, which provides differentiated service. Then, we propose an efficient traffic scheduling strategy based on the queue model with non-preemptive priority on the cluster head. This strategy ensures the delay-constrained requirement in order to satisfy the QoS of surveillance application. Finally, through theoretical analysis and simulation experiments, we validate the availability of the method. Compared with other traditional methods, our method shows better performance. In particular, our method suits for audio/video sensor networks to provide DiffServ.
