Abstract
Summary form only given. Electrochemical cyclic voltammetry was successfully applied on polypyrrole submicroparticles or nanoparticles stabilized in an aqueous media by a steric surfactant stabiliser such as methyl cellulose (MC) and hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC). This so-called latex (suspension system) was found to behave like a electrochemical redox system in solution. The electroactivity and the reversibility of this redox system are discussed in view of the role of the surfactants as well as the nature of the dopants. The effects of temperature and particle size are considered, too.
