  • Abstract
Summary form only given. We have demonstrated, for the first time, feedback quantum control for a molecular system. Only a few molecules are understood well enough that the optimal light pulses can be theoretically predicted in advance. Therefore, for most samples, we need to hold a conversation with the molecules in order to discover what they need in order to best reach the goal we have set for them. We have built a computer-controlled arbitrary lightfield generator and used it to carry out two types of feedback experiments on molecules in room temperature liquid solution. We have experimentally carried out and theoretically analyzed, both analytically and numerically, quantum control involving multiple interactions with light of different colors within the same light pulse.
