  • Abstract
    Motors are widely used in several industrial sectors. Motor Loaders are essential for performance analysis, parameter test of motors and motor systems. A new motor loading approach based on the principle that the input torque of an AC synchronous generator is directly proportional to the product of the exciting current, the load current and the power factor in the AC synchronous generator is presented. The load of an electric motor can be changed by controlling the exciting current, the load current and the power factor of the AC synchronous generator which is connected with the motor by a coaxial shaft coupling and acts as the load of the motor. An experimental system composed of a 5.5KW induction motor and a 5KW AC synchronous generator is built to validate the proposed approach.
