Abstract
In this contribution different technologies connecting conventional medical software with modules for supporting the patient informing process are represented. The authors lay the emphasis here on the design of the user interface and the realization of need driven informing as a requirement for the acceptance of these systems. The metabolism disease diabetes mellitus serves as an example of the doctor patients relation as basis of a successful prevention and therapy of chronic diseases.
