Abstract
The author discusses shaped reflector antennas as an elegant means of providing contoured beams for satellite application. They present an approach to the problem of obtaining two differently shaped, spatially isolated beams from a single shaped reflector antenna. The example they take is that of the hemispheric beam C-band antenna to be flown on Intelsat VII. Good gain performance is demonstrated for two differently sized and shaped regions, using a single feed for each coverage and a single main reflector aperture
