  • Abstract
A solid-core photonic crystal fiber (SC-PCF) sensor with a microstructured all-silica steering wheel lattice containing a 3μm diameter core is used to identify dye-free monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) in very small volumes (i.e. <; 0.001 μL) that are useful in detecting the presence of immunobased assays and susceptible to secondary antigens specific to the detection application. A 0.8 m length of SC-PCF was used with a 3.74 nL sample and a broadband LED in the 1300-1700 nm range. This experiment uniquely investigates the spectral characteristics of purified Human immunoglobulin class G (IgG) (format-UNLB) in aqueous media. The absorption characteristics associated with these mAbs were measured using a standard optical spectrum analyzer.
