Abstract
Overview of frequency regulation services and reserve markets in which these regulation services are traded is provided in this paper. Quality and quantity of regulation service in four electricity markets, namely PJM, New-England, Great Britain and German markets, are discussed in detail. A review and comparative study of the procurement methods along with the working of the reserve markets in the selected electricity markets is also given.
