Abstract
When an ultra short pulse propagates down an anomalously dispersive birefringent optical fibre, complex features develop which require explanation. The object of this talk is to outline a perturbation theory based on inverse scattering theory, which admits useful application to the study of many of these observed features. The theory is an extension of one previously described, which found useful application to the isotropic (i.e. non-birefringent) case
