  • Abstract
    ARCANET is a Ku-band VSAT network intended to provide personal communications utilising either fixed or suitcase portable terminals. The ARCANET system utilizes an innovative satellite access technique, band limited quasi-synchronous CDMA, together with state-of-the-art digital signal processing components and algorithms. The result is a very effective cost-performance system that provides data, fax, and toll quality phone communication to the end user. The system architecture, configuration and services are described, giving an insight into the network management as well as the characteristics of the main network elements
