Abstract
The electric field effect on the density of states (DOS) and the local density of states (LDOS) of open single-walled carbon Nanotubes (SWNT) are studied by the lattice Green´s function method with the tight-binding approximation. We have found that the particle-hole symmetry of the density states is broken by application of field, for both armchair and zigzag SWNT.
