Abstract
Reviews previous work on field-coupled devices, which is motivated by the observation of Coulomb coupling between quantum dots, as well as real and artificial atoms and molecules. These types of devices and their couplings provide an interesting alternative to the more conventional wire-contacted devices for nanoelectronic integrated circuits
