Abstract
The Green functions of R.W.P. King which are derived under high contrast approximation and valid for arbitrary range are tested in formulating electromagnetic scattering problems for metallic thin wire structures located over a planar lossy dielectric half-space. For a verification of the developed MATLAB™ codes which employ a Method of Moments formulation with pulse basis functions, the current distributions obtained under plane wave illumination on the arms of a cross shaped thin wire structure are compared to the same results obtained by the commercial software SNEC™. The developed codes have the ability to read data from NEC-2 type input files, while the analytical aspects of the formulation provides various capabilities to include terrain features and oceanographic parameters into any scattering scenario.
