Abstract
This paper describes the installation by Metronet Rail of a remote monitoring and data logging system supplied by Transmitton Ltd on the central line. It details what data was available prior to the start of the system\´s introduction, describes its limitations and the difficulties involved with identifying the cause of "no fault found" failures. It outlines how the remote monitoring system has enabled historical data to be translated and replayed in a graphical format representing the site layout and finally, it describes the benefits that have resulted from implementing the system
