Abstract
PLZT (lead lanthanum zirconate titanate) x/95/5 ceramics with low La concentration, x=0.5 to 4 wt.%, exhibit an antiferroelectric (AFE)-ferroelectric (FE)-paraelectric (PE) phase sequence. The FE phase exists in both AFE and PE phases in a wide range. Dielectric, pyroelectric, thermally stimulated current, and Raman scattering measurements have been performed as functions of temperature in all phases. The diffuse character of the phase transitions was confirmed, and the width of the phases coexistence was proved to depend on the La concentration. A model is proposed for interpreting the defects and the phase balance
