    Summary form only given. Genetic Algorithms are a part of Soft Computing Techniques that deal with function optimization. The basic principles of Genetic Algorithms are stated. Its stochastic nature and various genetic operators are discussed in this paper. Some basic issues (e.g., convergence) related to these algorithms are also discussed.
